Greening of Arkansas Grants Program

With this grant we hope to encourage organizations and civic groups to beautify their communities and enhance their quality of life through horticulture. Since 2006 the Greening of Arkansas Grant Program has been funded from proceeds from the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show, Inc. along with support from other entities.

Grants may be used to construct civic plantings in community gardens, neighborhood parks, and public spaces. Grant awards are available up to $1,500 at the discretion of the Greening of Arkansas Grant Committee. A lesser grant amount may be awarded based on the project’s merits and benefits to the community.

The 2011 grant recipients are:

  • Conway: Water Conservation Demonstration and Butterfly Garden, Faulkner County Master Gardeners.
  • Cotter: Butterfly Garden at Big Spring, Cotter Saturday Club.
  • El Dorado: South Arkansas Arboretum Butterfly Garden, Union County Master Gardeners.
  • Perryville: Restoration of American Legion Hut, Perry County Historical Museum.
  • Searcy: Searcy Historical Memorial Garden, Greenkeepers Garden Club.
  • Stamps: Landscaping for new fire station.
